So, we went up to Ogden the other night for the 24th of July fireworks. I don't know why, but WSU does them earlier than the 24th. Yay Utah and it's celebrating of unusual holidays. Ha ha.

Carly was adorable and kept peering in at the bunnies at my Uncle's house. The best was when you asked "what does a bunny say?" and she would answer promptly, "hop, hop".

The fireworks were pretty cool, but the canons were ridiculously loud and earsplitting. It started to sprinkle a little before the show but it cleared up quickly and stayed warm...
Savannah was showing us how Carly can count, (you can't really see the video because they were standing under a tree in the dark to hide from the rain, but you can hear it) and Logan showed up with an umbrella, which I guess is what comes after 9 when you're counting now :) "9..'brella!....'brella..."

"the fair is a veritable smorgasborg..."

updates, updates!

So, I'm supposed to blog about the carnival on the joint blog, seeing as how nothing ever gets blogged there anymore... but, well, I'm doing it on here instead so I can combine it with the fireworks post. Sorry other blog.

Melinda called me up the other day to go to the carnival in AF. It was dark outside and about 95 degrees, which means it was lovely.

Logan and I got there just in time to meet up with Melinda and Rebecca in line for "The Orbiter", which is surprisingly similar to "The Tornado" we went on that I blogged about a few weeks ago. Anyway. Logan is not much of a carnival ride person- they make him sick. He was opting to stand to the side and take pictures, when Melinda psyched him into going so I wouldn't be riding solo in my little seat. Before it started he was doing some deep calming breathing which was making us laugh, and about halfway through (as I was suffering from whiplash) his breathing turned into moaning. That was his only ride of the night other than the Ferris Wheel. It was a queasy time for us. Maybe not Rebecca, but she's tough. Actually, I was semi-okay on that first one, but then I spotted the Gravitron! Except it was called something different. Whatever it was, I love that ride. We waited in line and Melinda, Rebecca and I climbed in to get twirled and plastered to the wall. Ugh. Yeah, I was feelin' it walkin' out of that one. I was just debating on how to make myself feel better when I saw it... The carnival ride of all carnival rides. I'd never seen such a thing. It was glorious! Round and round and upside down it spun.

Must....try....

This time it was Melinda taking the deep calming breaths before the ride. We both actually stopped watching it before we went on cause it was dizzying. But oh man, once we got on...It was amazing. Fog rose up from the ground as we lifted up, and we were off! It was the best carnival ride ever...just like I knew it would be at first sight. Amazingly, this one didn't make you sick at all- Or maybe the exhilaration was enough to make you not realize it.

Yay summer. :)

"Summertime and the livin's easy..."

Yesterday my ward had a "water skiing/luau extravaganza"...I know...sounds pretty intense. It was.

We all went up to Deer Creek and it was perfect outside, it couldn't have been any better. We went canoeing first, which was nothin compared to canoeing in the Everglades, but it was fun.

My Bishop brought a couple jet skis and he let me drive one around, which is way more fun than I thought, and not scary at all like I was thinking it would be.

As soon as we jumped off we went on a boat that belongs to one of the guys in my ward and a couple of the girls wakeboarded behind it while we cruised around. On our way back in, me and another guy in my ward rode on tubes and had the boat tow us. It was pretty awesome.
We took a break after that to let some other people ride, and played some Go Fish- which I won with 6 fishies, thank you. bwahaha. Then we went canoeing again and ate dinner and eventually went back home to swim in the pool. Or..fall in the pool. Either way :)
 I Love Summer.

"sleep well, my dear..."

Nathan is finally home where he belongs :) He's adorable.

(and he scowls in his sleep while you hold him and it's the cutest thing ever...plus he has an amazing mohawk all the time)

"fork and knife"

Logan and I are funny.

So, I got back from Idaho a couple days ago. We went up to hang out with Logan's family and it was a fun trip. Everything is super green right now, and the weather is sunny and perfect.

While we were there, we were making breakfast one morning, when we decided to brighten everyone's day with a little surprise....as seen here:

oh man. We had to hurry and sneak do it while everyone was out of the kitchen, and then we anxiously waited the next morning for someone to make eggs for breakfast. There is just something super funny about opening up a carton of eggs and finding these guys inside.

After his Mom had discovered them and we decided to make eggs of our own, I could hear Logan over by the pan whimpering "I'm sorry!" to the little eggs as he cracked them open. There is just something so hard about cracking them when they're looking at you so pleadingly...

"I've got my rock moves!..."

Happy June!

I know, it's a little late in the month to be wishing everyone that, but I love June.

So...we have a lot of birthdays in the family this month, 8, actually. Including baby Nathan. Here we all are, (Uncle Michael, Tamara, Me, Logan, Curtis, Savannah, and Tiffany) except Nathan was havin a little rockin party elsewhere. He'll be old enough to join us when he turns 1. :)

Melinda decided to throw us all an amazingly rockin birthday party on Saturday. And when I say rockin...I mean it. I got my concert ticket in the mail, and I was all set to go. We got our hands stamped when we went in, and beforehand we filled out a survey of the best concerts we've been to...ones we'd like to go to...best stories...and we stood onstage while their pictures were displayed. Um...hello? Who wouldn't want to stand on a stage with giant pictures of Jonny and Taylor and the like next to them? ... I guess everyone doesn't have the same dreams as I do. It was awesome.

So anyway, there were tons of things at the party to turn yourself into a rocker, and everyone was looking mighty rockish after awhile. We all got songs and performed them, too, like we used to when we were little...which was a hoot. I never knew my Uncle Mike had such sass! It was pretty amazing. I'm debating whether to post my group's video or not. Perhaps not.

Another successful party and another rock filled day. *sigh*...what a great weekend. We're awesome. Thanks for the party, Melinda! It was a blasty blast.
Oh yeah, sidenote: so the whole day I'm trying to play with Carly, and get her to come to me- which she only did occasionally. Insert saddest picture of the day here:

And then later at my house I was coaxing her into watching The Little Mermaid with me and telling her all about how handsome Prince Eric was, and she was okay until Rebecca walked into the room- then she was a goner. Which is understandable, cause she's always been like that with Becki. But THEN, Becki left, and I thought I had my chance. No such luck. She wasn't havin' any of it....when out of nowhere, so walks up to Logan, scoots her little self over til she's all snuggled up, and cuddles with him while they watch the movie together! Excuse me?! I just looked at her and said, "Really, Carly? Are you serious?" and she glanced at me for a second, got up and reached for something, and then scooted right back in to Logan again. I'm so sure! Some people's kids...
