"get up and get down and get outside...."

The last few weekends have been super fun and really busy so I'm gonna try and catch up on everything now...this might take a few posts. We'll start with just telling you that three weekends ago we went and took family pictures for this really cute family:

On our way home we drove up Kolob reservoir and stopped by the lake for some watermelon on the dock.

Things were going pretty great until we hopped back in the car and hit a tree a few minutes later. We're fine, but Gilligan was injured in the accident.  :( He needs a little work done, but he'll be okay.

Then two weeks ago, my old friend Matt that I met back in 2005-ish came up from Vegas with his girlfriend and 3 other friends and we spent the weekend having a blast. We went up to Zion and hiked Angel's landing. That's my favorite hike I've been on, it's gorgeous. The next day we hiked a little around my house, and cruised around in Gilligan.

It's been great living here and being able to drive to such majestic places in such little time. It makes life seem so much more beautiful when nature is so close by and everyone is enjoying it.
I'll finish updating the last couple weeks in another post :) I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

"Such wonderful things surround you, What more is you lookin' for?"

Hurray for today! Two things.

First, my new camera is here! Ahhh. I'm so happy. What a hassle it was getting this bad boy.

2nd exciting news! A month or so ago Logan was playing a show at Tuacahn and during his last song (a cover of kiss the girl) he mentioned jokingly that someone should buy us tickets to The Little Mermaid Broadway show they're doing at Tuacahn right now. Right after the song, one of the ladies in charge of things (who loves logan) presented him with 2 tickets to see it! "Logan asked for tickets, and he's got em!" So I've been waiting impatiently all month and tonight is the night we're going to see it! woo hoo! Nevermind that I'll kind of be going straight to work after the show. Who needs sleep when you've just seen Prince Eric?! Not me. sigh. :)

Also, they sell these dinglehoppers outside the show that have brush bristles on the other side.  How awesome is that? I need one.

“It's a dinglehopper. Humans use these little babies... to straighten their hair out. See? Just a little twirl here and a yank there and voila. You've got an aesthetically pleasing configuration of hair that humans go nuts over.”

So, update:
We went to the show and it was fantastic! Tuacahn is amazing, I would highly recommend seeing The Little Mermaid there. Seriously, so so good. We sat in the second row which is apparently the splash zone but it was so hot outside that it was kinda nice. Seriously, I saw this on Broadway in NYC when it first came out, and this was comparable to that. Some parts, like scuttle, and the whole chef scene, were even better. :) and now it's off to work....

"i've been waiting for a good day..."

I will have to write the details tomorrow, because it's time to go to work and I have a busy day ahead of me, but exciting things are happening today. It's only 430am and I'm already so stoked!...that's when I know it's going to be a good day.
I hope all of you lovely readers have a fantastic day today as well! :)

"it's just one of those days..."

Remember that one time I sold my camera to upgrade to the t2i through amazon and then through a series of ridiculous events my account got canceled after I had ordered and half of it had been charged and shipped? So now I have 2 lenses coming but no camera? yeeaaaah.....I remember that too. Probably because I spent approximately all day from the time I got off work today on the phone with different amazon customer service reps. and running back and forth to my bank.
All of which told me there was nothing they could do. So now I get to wait for my lenses to come so that I can ship them back and re-order my entire purchase again. In like a week when they refund me. And hope I still get the amazing deal I was supposed to get. Oh, and meanwhile I'm camera-less. Today has not been my day.
On that note, it's 8:23pm which means I have to go to bed to get in my 7 hours of sleep before work in the morning. It's not even sunset yet. I'm ready to quit my job. Sigh.
Some days I just think I would be better off just sleeping through.

Dear _______, Wish You Were Here...

Last Friday my sister Melinda texted me and asked what my weekend plans were. We decided she should bring my other sister Rebecca and come play in St George. They came down Friday night and we hung out, played Saturday at the farmer's market and then at Zion National Park til sunset, and went to church and then hiking at Red Cliffs on Sunday before they left.  It was a super fun weekend, I had a blast. I'm really glad they came down.

We got pinwheels for riding around in Logan's car and held them up all day as we went. :) His car is pretty awesome for the canyon...which is also why we look like hippies. It's lots easier for hair management if you just give in and rock the bandana :)
Aaand I have a ton of pictures from the weekend. :) Ready Set Go.

"we are the normal..."

This keeps making me laugh:

My parents are a hoot.
