2 months from today....
I'm gettin' hitched!
This weekend was crazy. A few weeks ago I ordered the wedding dress I fell in love with online and I've been waiting for it to get here. Or rather, to a store in Lehi. My Dad actually called I'm pretty sure every bridal store in Utah as well as a couple in Idaho and one in some random state for this dress and no one had it in. He eventually found one place getting it, so I hurried and- with only slight complications- ordered it.
Three weeks later they finally told me it came in, so I headed up after work on Friday and was so excited to see it. I got there, tried it on....and hated it. :( It was the saddest thing. The ladies at the store kept saying how great it was and finally Melinda took me aside and asked me about it and I tried telling her what was wrong and then just ended up tearing up with her saying "oh no, don't cry!"
The whole way home I just kept trying not to think about it so I wouldn't cry and when I got home I didn't even want to try it on for anyone. I tried it on a few times anyway, just to see if I could learn to like it, and then slept on it that night and decided the next day I just couldn't do it. By that point we were up in Idaho and Logan looking around for reception places. That ended up being pretty fun and we found two places we're deciding between.
While we were out and about I just kept thinking about my dress and I asked my Dad to just list it for sale online. After a couple hours Logan called the store I got it from and sweet talked them into letting me exchange it. They even stayed after hours and I had the whole store to myself and a personal shopper to help me with dresses. They close at 6pm and I was there from around 7pm-9pm. I found the perfect dress- (which ended up being almost the exact opposite of the first one I got) and it doesn't need any alterations (phew- sigh of relief) and now things are back on track again! The lady told me she usually doesn't even call Grooms back but Logan was just so nice on the phone she wanted to make an exception for us. It was a Christmas miracle! ....or maybe a wedding miracle. :)
We have pictures on March 10th with one of my favorite photographers around here so I'm totally excited, and the weekend after that I have my Bridal Shower Melinda is throwing me which is gonna be awesome, I'm really stoked. Things are getting busier, but (cross your fingers) just more and more fun as time goes on. :)
