I'm back. I know you all missed me. Minus the cowgirl hat, I got to experience a little glimmer of farm life this weekend. We got to the farm early in the morning and Logan showed me how all the machines work and took me into this place where all the potatoes fall out of the machine- I've never seen so many potatoes all together in my whole life. We drove in this big 10-wheeler (okay, ps...it had a conveyor belt in the bed that moves all the potatoes! who knew such things existed?) next to a tractor thing that scooped up the potatoes and this big arm placed them in the back of our truck. It was very exciting.

"Dandelions lost in the summer sky..."

My photography class is my favorite class this semester. How awesome is it to have homework to go out and shoot a roll of film? Awesome. We went up AF canyon a ways to get some cool shots a couple days ago, and today I spent my 3-hour class processing my film and developing it. I'm so happy I've made friends in that class, it's scary doing that stuff by yourself. I'm totally intimidated at picking photography as a major because of the expectations that come with it (can't you major in something like that because you love it and it's fun, and not have everyone expect your photos to be amazing? no. sorry) but for now I'm still just a general "Art" major. We'll see what happens.

M-I-C KE-Y M-O-U-SE!

Happy Birthday to Carly!
On Saturday we drove up to Logan to go to Carly's Mickey Mouse party, and as soon as we walked in she greeted us saying: "Mickey Par-ty!" in her little sing-song voice. We each got mouse-ka-tools and Carly informed us that all of her presents were "toys".
She got a cute little table and chairs from Nana and she carried them into the kitchen for her cake (which was awesome, by the way). As soon as she saw it she asked for a fork, and as soon as she dug in she asked for a plate. What a polite little 2 year old. :)

When she brought her plate to her little table, she looked up at Jason who was holding Nathan and said "Nathan! Sit!" Jason held him on the chair, and Carly dubbed that his seat for the rest of the night. She even offered him the whole tub of ice cream when he sat next to her. She pushed it over to him and waited for him to do something about it, but he must not have been very hungry just right then. Both of those little kids just get cuter every time I see them.

"Are you up for, are you up for this? Louder now, louder now..."

I can pretty safely say that yesterday was the greatest Labor Day...I have ever had.

Remember a month or two ago when I was ridiculously excited because I saw my drummer idol strollin' through Disneyland? Well last night, I got to see him play live. OH...MY. He was amazing! He was everything I hoped he would be, which is really saying something because I had some high expectations. I'm not even kidding. I am blown away. In case you didn't ready that blog and you're confused, no, I am not talking about Rush. I know, I know, the drummer... but I love Travis Barker.
Now, we all know Blink isn't the greatest band ever...they know, we know. They were selling shirts at the show that said "Blink 182-crappy punk music"- it's no surprise. But they put on a fantastic show. Kind of like when I saw a band that shall not be named here and they put on a Pantera tribute and had a moving stage and fireworks and all sorts of theatrics. I had to admit..they are a ridiculous band, who put on a good show. Anyway, my camera struggles when it's trying to film with changing strobe lights, but I did my best so you could somewhat witness the amazing spectacular that is Travis. Now, the majority of this video is screaming, so you might wanna turn down your speakers a bit if they're loud, but you have to watch, because the whole thing is incredible. I've never seen anything like it:

Also, they played with Taking Back Sunday, who I'm sure were amazing as always, but we couldn't really hear them very well in that venue. sad. Afterward both bands were just hanging out in their tour buses outside. Mark Hoppus strolled around and signed things for people and he was right next to us. *sigh*...I love concerts. I love drums.

"When I say 'let's keep in touch', I really mean I wish that you'd grow up..."

Why is it that some people never seem to get over themselves?
I mean this is several ways...
Like when people hold a grudge for months, or even worse, when they never let go of it.
Or when someone can't apologize when they're wrong, whether they even admit to themselves if they're wrong or not.
Like when people break up and they can't just maturely say "hey, we're no good for each other, let's part ways and just be friends like we were to begin with."
Or when someone mentions something they don't like about us and we have to pester them about it, trying to find out details and examples because we are just so sure that they must be wrong, because we want so badly to pretend we're perfect. Even if we all know we're not, we don't like other people pointing it out.
Or how if you do something rash, and then apologize, you still never seem to be able to live it down.
Or how when you tell the truth to someone you care about, sometimes that makes the situation a lot worse than it ever would have been otherwise.
Or like when people choose sides and talk about other people when they're not around, rather than just confronting them and letting them know what the problem is.
Or how people think it's okay to ignore someone when you're upset with them.
I don't really expect any answers. Today I just realized I am so very tired of thinking about these people.
