"The sun is on my side and takes me for a ride..."

So! Time for another post. I know you've all just been waiting and hoping. Who am I to disappoint?

First on the agenda: new hair.

I guess I never posted any pictures after my last post. It's amazing how easy it is to maintain short hair. I don't think I really have any pictures of it curly, but that's how it's been most of the time.

Last weekend...or...the weekend before this last one, I went on a family vacation with Logan's family to California. His younger sister Shanda and her boyfriend Wilson drove down from Idaho and joined up with us in Provo and we all headed down to Vegas to spend the night at their sister Jen's house. The next afternoon we continued on our journey and ended up in Oceanside, CA that evening. The beach house we stayed in was amazing...we slept with the patio door open and you could hear the waves so loud it was like being in the ocean. We did some boogie boarding, which I have never done and was super amazingly fun once you get the hang of it, and Logan let me borrow one of his wetsuits so I wouldn't freeze to death. I've decided that's the way to go...I was so warm! It was lovely. The next day we did the same thing...after I made sure the dolphins were gone. They were swimming so close to shore I thought the surfers were going to run them over. Scaaaary. Once our bodies needed a break we came back in and and rested...as I turned into a mermaid.

Speaking of mermaids, every night a different couple was in charge of the meal and entertainment. One of Logan's sister's chose "Famous Couples" as their theme, so I made Logan dress up as Prince Eric, and we went as the best famous couple I can think of. Shanda and Wilson are dressed as the characters from "Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy", since most people reading this probably haven't seen that movie.

The day after we got there we went to a yoga church thing, where there were amazing gardens and people meditating everywhere. The gardens overlooked the ocean and everything was really peaceful.

The next day (we were there for a week, and I really have no concept of time, so I'm just going over the highlights) we decided to go to Sea World, and then on a boat ride. I am pretty much terrified of most sea creatures, but the park was fun and we didn't have to go into the shark cove, aaaand- just as we were leaving we discovered a starfish cove! How cool is that? You could just reach in and pick them up and they were crazy feeling. That's my new favorite thing at that park.

The next day was California Adventure day. We got lots of snacks for the park and I found this amazing dinosaur sandwich cutter at the store, so we made sandwiches for the day, and they were oh so much more fun to eat than normal sandwiches. I rode Soarin' Over California in honor of Justin, and we rode a couple rides I hadn't been on before and hit up the Tower of Terror, which was awesome. I got a ginormous lollipop which I loved until Stitch came along.

Logan was trying to take a picture with him, but Stitch just kept pointing at me, until eventually he came right over and stole my sucker! That punk. If the camera panned a little to the left in this picture you would've seen me pouting. We hopped over to Disneyland for a few rides and then came back for the Electrical Light Parade and then the park closed. We drove back home and the next morning was Disneyland Day! We had a blast.

We did everything we could think of, and Logan and I ate at the Blue Bayou, which is the restaurant your boat goes through on beginning of the Pirates of The Caribbean ride, and our dessert was shaped like a boat! Plus it was delicious. Logan and Shanda and Wilson all got turkey legs to eat for lunch, and as Logan unwrapped his in line for Pirates, this huge flood of grease spilled out all over his foot...it was pretty disgusting. It splattered everywhere and he ended up washing his feet in the water from the ride. Ew.
The next day we played in the ocean catching more waves in, and then headed down to this awesome little town full of cool unique shops and I got the most amazing shoes in an old shop where I also found things like a flapper dress. Super cute, huh?

On the way home we stopped in Vegas again and ate dinner at Margaritaville, and watched the fountains for awhile. The next morning before we left, Logan's nephew gave us all Transformers masks to wear and talked to us all in his Optimus Prime voice, which is pretty amazing. I guess that's about everything. I'm exhausted and missing the beach already, but next time I am totally taking Michelangelo with me. Oh yeah...and I stepped on a bee and got stung half a week ago and it's itching like crazy today. Weird...that's the second time I've ever been stung, and both were from stepping on bees. I guess I should watch where I'm going. Or at least wear my glasses.

Sounds like you had an awesome adventure! Too bad about your lollipop, though!
