Last weekend we went to the canyon and took pictures. It's really too bad that this state is going to be very brown again soon. Boring.

We also went to Oktoberfest! Sounds cool, right? I thought so. It was....different. Not what I thought it was going to be at all, but amusing. I'm also not sure why it's in September...but maybe I can ask Melinda later. She's been in college way longer than I have.
Also, there are so many amazing concerts coming up! Blink 182 with Taking Back Sunday, Ben Harper and Pearl Jam, The Airborne Toxic Event, Brand New, The Ataris, Rancid, Mae... *sigh*...if there is one thing I have to say for Utah, it's that everybody comes here to play. Thank you.
Speaking of music, I love music. Everyone knows that. I have noticed more and more people lately wandering around with headphones in. At school, outside, at the grocery store...when did people become so secluded into their own worlds that they created a "shopping playlist"? (hmm...I wonder what kind of music I would put onto a shopping playlist....) It's so weird. On the one hand I kind of get it, because I walk around the airport with my headphones in and it's like this amazing experience of having your own little soundtrack to your life playing, but that's totally different than the store. I might feel differently about this in the future, but for right now that is just weird. That all being said, here is a cute video to go along with the whole shopping and music thing because, aww..
There is a bum that stands on the side of the freeway entrance on the way to school every morning. His black markered cardboard sign says "Homeless. Need Work. Anything will help." Today when I was stopped next to him and eyeing him warily he kept glancing at his watch. I wanted to say "got somewhere else to be?" because it seemed kind of strange, but maybe he's just OCD. I always wonder about how those people got in those situations and if they're faking it. This guy has on a wedding ring. And different clothes every day. If he's not faking, it's pretty sad that he had no friends or anybody to care enough about him to help him out. It makes me wonder about his life.
Also out collecting money lately are the Firemen dressed in their outfits and holding out their firemen boots. I like those guys. I always want to give them money. Maybe the homeless would have more success if they dressed as firemen. Or is that like impersonating an officer? Also, probably would only work if they had the fireman build. Ok, scratch that plan, homeless.

Boring colors? We will have the beautiful fall colors, then a few minutes of brown boring, and then... lovely snow? You have to admit the snow is pretty... yeah, I know it's cold, but it is pretty when it first falls!
when it first falls, perhaps...but I'm always hibernating by then so I don't know. If I do happen to see it it's usually gross brown snow on the sides of the road...
Ok so this is totally nerdy of me, but your shadow pic reminded me of the X-Files movie poster. lol.
hahaha. I'll have to look up that poster...
