so my friend Sarah posted a blog today that made me laugh at her OCD. not because i think she's crazy or anything, but because i do the same thing with my closet.
i have to have my clothes organized by color. they all hang in their appropriate place, sized by color, then short sleeve to long sleeve within that color. i can't help it. i even do it to other people's clothes sometimes...yikes. i know.
don't worry, if i come over you won't walk into your bedroom to discover me rearranging your clothes. i'm not weird...just...organized. i've really only done it to other people if i'm helping them clean, or...whatever. anyway. moving on.
i also have a thing with my books/movies. books should be in order by size, while movies get separated by category. that one is pretty easy since i'm not really one to buy movies, and most of my books are packed away. i only have a limited selection out to work with.
so, next time you ask "hey what're you doing?" and i say "color-coordinating", you don't have to wonder what that means...i just did laundry and i wont be satisfied til it's put away properly. it's not weird! it's perfectly healthy to be organized.

I tend to do the seam thing with my books!
I'll tell the kids to put there books away, then go in later and re-organize by size
You should come organize my closet sometime.
It never ceases to amaze me how much we have in common... I too organize my clothes by color and sleeve length but I also have matching colored hangers for mine. It was great in college cause I new exactly what a roommate would borrow if a hanger was empty :)
And I also organize our books by size and category. hahaha We need to hang out more often.
If I organize my clothes it is by "type" i.e. t-shirts, nice shirts, polo shirts, shirts I never wear but keep for sentimental value. I'm usually so glad that the laundry is FOLDED I don't care where it goes :) Or Curtis puts it in the closet, and I feel dumb explaining to him that my shirts have a "place"
