"it's hip to be square..."

A couple months ago I was thinking about how I would never really make a blanket because it was such a huge project and I didn't really have any reason for it until maybe I had a baby to make one for or something.

Then Logan's Mom posted a picture of one on pinterest and I thought, 'oh, that's cute...and...i'm pretty sure I could do that.' and thus began my huge project that I finished a couple days ago. Logan helped me pick out the colors for it, and I love how they turned out.

Hurray for being done with this thing! It's soft and cozy and bright and fun and was way more work than I initially intended. Ha ha.

I present: my biggest crochet project to date.

It was hard for me to show how big it is, or figure out how to take pictures of it to show it in general. Which kindof explains why I'm using it as a cape...

If it's not good for cape wearing, what is it good for?  Exactly.

but it turned out just about the right size, and I'm happy.

Here's to finishing big projects.

Now I've got to go cuddle up in this thing and wait for Spring...

*For anyone interested in this pattern, I followed this: granny square blanket and then added a border. I ended up doing about 8 squares across and 8 squares down.

Thank you! It's a pretty simple granny stitch. I'll put the link to the pattern I followed in the bottom of the post! :)
