"I've got my rock moves!..."

Happy June!

I know, it's a little late in the month to be wishing everyone that, but I love June.

So...we have a lot of birthdays in the family this month, 8, actually. Including baby Nathan. Here we all are, (Uncle Michael, Tamara, Me, Logan, Curtis, Savannah, and Tiffany) except Nathan was havin a little rockin party elsewhere. He'll be old enough to join us when he turns 1. :)

Melinda decided to throw us all an amazingly rockin birthday party on Saturday. And when I say rockin...I mean it. I got my concert ticket in the mail, and I was all set to go. We got our hands stamped when we went in, and beforehand we filled out a survey of the best concerts we've been to...ones we'd like to go to...best stories...and we stood onstage while their pictures were displayed. Um...hello? Who wouldn't want to stand on a stage with giant pictures of Jonny and Taylor and the like next to them? ... I guess everyone doesn't have the same dreams as I do. It was awesome.

So anyway, there were tons of things at the party to turn yourself into a rocker, and everyone was looking mighty rockish after awhile. We all got songs and performed them, too, like we used to when we were little...which was a hoot. I never knew my Uncle Mike had such sass! It was pretty amazing. I'm debating whether to post my group's video or not. Perhaps not.

Another successful party and another rock filled day. *sigh*...what a great weekend. We're awesome. Thanks for the party, Melinda! It was a blasty blast.
Oh yeah, sidenote: so the whole day I'm trying to play with Carly, and get her to come to me- which she only did occasionally. Insert saddest picture of the day here:

And then later at my house I was coaxing her into watching The Little Mermaid with me and telling her all about how handsome Prince Eric was, and she was okay until Rebecca walked into the room- then she was a goner. Which is understandable, cause she's always been like that with Becki. But THEN, Becki left, and I thought I had my chance. No such luck. She wasn't havin' any of it....when out of nowhere, so walks up to Logan, scoots her little self over til she's all snuggled up, and cuddles with him while they watch the movie together! Excuse me?! I just looked at her and said, "Really, Carly? Are you serious?" and she glanced at me for a second, got up and reached for something, and then scooted right back in to Logan again. I'm so sure! Some people's kids...

"will we be restless for the rest of our lives?"

Michaelangelo is restless. So am I.

I think we both need a good trip to the sunshine.

So, today it sprinkled a bit..again...and I was at an outdoor wedding. The cool thing was, it stayed sunny and warm the whole time. Ah, Florida. It was good enough that I could pretend I was there for those 5 minutes. Homesick? Yes I am.

Also, I updated istar yesterday. (my iphone)...technically I'm supposed to be able to get picture mail now, but I still can't til late summer. Funny to be so excited about something that I don't think I've ever had a phone that couldn't do. Lame. One of these days.

My roommate hung a wooden windchime outside and it just started doing it's thing. Not obnoxiously like some windchimes, but pretty. It makes me want to be in a beach house somewhere.

Alright, I guess that's it. Sorry. I'll try and liven things up a bit so I'll have more exciting things to post.

"when I was 25..."

So...in other news...I haven't updated in forever. Again. Obviously I have a new nephew that is adorable, and that has been the biggest event going on as of late. I can't wait to see him again.

I guess I'll write about what else I've been up to. I went to Idaho two weekends ago with Logan. I swear, as much as I've teased about Idaho in the past, that state has the prettiest sunsets. I found that out when I went to school there, and then realized it again this time. The trip was really fun, and I ran into another friend of mine at church from Provo that lives there now. Logan's family was great and strangely similar to mine. Oddly enough, one of the only pictures I have from the trip is Mr. Jolly Green Giant. Just to clarify- this was in the waiting room in a potato factory, not in Logan's family's living room like it might appear. I didn't think it looked like that, but since my parent's asked...I guess I should be clear...Because there would be something so wrong about that.
Oh yeah- and since the last time I blogged I got older. I'm 25 now! I know. I'm kind of a big deal. I'm old enough to..rent a car and take it out of state if I want. So I've got that going for me. Just in case.
I asked Logan to write me a song for my birthday, which he pretended he wasn't going to do- until my birthday came, and he busted out into a Spanish ballad. My one requirement was that it be in English, so after that he sang me my real song.
It tells our story. ...which is basically, we met two years ago while we worked at Best Buy, but we were both dating other people. We kept in contact every once in awhile through facebook or myspace, and a few months ago we went to the movies and we've been pretty inseparable ever since. :)

Oh also- I got a new roommate, Kari. My other one got married and abandoned us, but this one is tons better, and it's been fun having her. Yesterday she invited me to her "glitter toe party" she had in the living room, which turned out to be a pretty fancy spa setup when I got out there, and now I have beautiful toes. Thank you. I guess that's all of my updates for now.

"Fading everything to black and blue, You look a lot like you..."

Hurray for fun hair!

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted black and blue hair. It is a lot harder to come by than one might think in a casual glance at someone with such hair. Yesterday, I decided to do it. I'd been debating red for awhile, and actually started to go with that, when suddenly I thought "wait...what am I thinking?!" and went with the blue. Woo hoo! is all I have to say about it.

Oh, and Mom...before you get mad...just think of it as a tribute to your beloved Adam Lambert. You said yourself his hair was amazing, even after I pointed out the blue in it. So instead of getting upset, just think...what would Adam do?

Adam...thanks....this one's in your honor.

"take me on a trip I'd like to go somewhere..."

I guess it is about time for another update.

Robyn is now married, and I did her and her sister's hair for her wedding. Hm..I don't have any pictures of that, but I'm sure I will later. The day was hectic and sunny and California was gorgeous. I'm really impressed with whoever her photographer was- that guy was jumping in bushes and rolling through the grass to get the shots. Who knows how the pictures turned out, but at least I was super entertained by him all day. They also had a photo booth set up at their reception, which was a cute idea.

California was awesome. We got there on Tuesday and went to Sea World on Wednesday, which was terrifying- obviously- because I can't handle sea creatures. The shows were very cool though, with cheesy dialogue from the crews and silly things like penguins that I liked to create dialogue for as they did funny stuff. I was alright for most of the day until we went in the shark exhibit, and then I got a little panicky. I held it together though, and by the end Logan even got me to pet one of the stingrays. They were so weird, they just kept swimming up like little dogs waiting to be pet. They were very slimy and rubbery and soon after I stood cleansing my arm with soap and water for awhile. The sea turtles were ginormous and my other favorite alongside the penguins and puffins and...some other funny little creature that I can't remember the name of.
On Saturday we went to Disneyland, and it was the perfect day. Sunny and hot, just the way I like it. So there we were, strollin over to the entryway of Frontierland, when I look up and freeze. Oh, hello Travis Barker! What the...and then suddenly our eyes locked and I realized I was walking past one of my favorite drummers of all time..."hi" I said coolly, casually nodding my head at him. He smirked and gave me the "what's up" nod in return and pushed his stroller past me and around the corner. .....!!!....I don't think that has been appreciated nearly enough for that experience by everyone. How cool is that?! Of all the people for me to see, I mean, come on! *sigh*...it was wonderful.

The place we stayed at was sooo cool. When you walked out the back doors you were on the sand of the beach in Oceanside. It was like heaven. You could hear the waves all night and wake up to them crashing on the rocks right beside you. It was so pretty.
I made friends with a Hindi lady while I was in California that would greet me and say "Ello Katreeena! Katrina famous Hindi heroine, very beauuutiful, everyone love. Lots of Hindi movies...oh. Today your hair look different. Today you look American, yesterday you look Hindi with the braids. Yes, yes, Katreeena." She was amazing. I should've gotten a pic with her. Oh! Second awesomest thing of Disney- we got our own boat on It's a Small World! The lady just did it to be cool, even though there were a bunch of people waiting. It was amazing, that's totally my favorite ride at Disneyland. Not so much at Disney World, but definitely in California. Plus, they added Ariel and Flounder in it singing along, so how could it not be my favorite?! It was awesome. On the way home we stopped in Vegas and ate at Margaritaville for dinner with Logan's sister and her husband and kids and then hung out. I love vacations.
